Day 01 Arrive Colombo ::
Having arrived in Sri Lanka you will be greeted by our representative and your chauffeur guide at the airport itself. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02 Colombo / Kandy ::
Morning breakfast, later play golf at Royal Colombo Golf Course : Royal Colombo Golf Club was first inaugurated some 125 years back and and is the second oldest outside the British Isles next to the Royal Calcutta Golf Club established 175 years ago. The club remains a showpiece after being re-designed by architects of world repute, Donald Steel and Martin Ebert. The course is absolutely beautiful and the clubhouse is studded with comfortable foyers, a Coffee Shop named Ridgeways and it offers much privacy and fine Dining.
After golf take a leisurely drive to the Kingdom of Kandy. Relish the scenic journey as you pass the paddy fields of the low country towards the city of Kandy. Along the way you will be passing sites of interest such as the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage -depending on your flight timing you are welcome to drop by and visit these places.
Once in Kandy find yourself surrounded by rolling green forests and listen for the trickle of rivers. At the comforts of the cozy private home of Kandy House, relax and recover from any jet lag. You will find that each of the rooms and suites are individually designed and this is why each is anointed a different name. Some even feature a private garden where you and your partner can enjoy tea or breakfast together.
Day 03 In Kandy ::
Morning breakfast, later play golf at Victoria Golf & Country Club : Victoria Golf & Country Resort offers a feast for the senses. Wander down fairways lined by majestic Mara Rain Trees, just as two or three white egrets swoop across the landscape; absorb the fragrance of magnificently flowering shrubs, take an evening swim in our infinity pool with unparalleled views of mountains and flowing landscapes, or play a set or two of tennis. Then there is dinner on the Terrace as the sun sets behind the magnificent Knuckles Mountain Range
After golf spend a lazy day at The Kandy House which was built by the final chief minister of the Kandyan Kingdom,
Ratwatte Adigar, in 1804. In fact, he had committed an act of defiance as he dared to build himself a palatial villa using roof tiles which at that time were decreed only for use on royal residences. As of recent times, Geoffrey Bawa’s protégé Channa Daswatte was engaged on a similar mission of daring: to retain all the charisma of this captivating house while bringing it up to the standard of luxury befitting 21 st century guests. The resulting restoration is your residence, The Kandy House.
Do steal some time in the day to stroll through the over 60 hectares Royal Peradeniya Botanical Gardens on the outskirts of Kandy city. Prior to the arrival of the British in Sri Lanka his was a royal park and it is today the largest botanical garden in the nation. There is a fine collection of orchids and a stately avenue of royal palms that were planted in 1905. Day 04 In Kandy ::
Take a short drive to the city centre of spiritual Kandy, surrounded by greenery and the great Mahaweli River. Kandy is also well known as the centre of Buddhism. Set out in the afternoon to a meditation and yoga centre for a private session practicing various asana. Next, become acquainted with the city of Kandy, paying your respects to the Temple of the Tooth Relic, which houses Sri Lanka’s most sacred relic, a tooth of the Lord Buddha. The Temple itself dates from the 16th century and is entered via 2 doors showing mythical beasts. To step up the tempo, attend a dance performance featuring traditional dances from the different regions of Sri Lanka.
Day 05 Kandy / Nuwara Eliya (3.5 hrs Drive) ::
Take a scenic three hours drive to Nuwara Eliya, specifically the Warwick Estate. During the drive, relish the endless views of tea carpeted valleys, processing factories belching out fragrant aromas and the bright flash of female “tea pluckers” in their pimento, fuchsia and cerise saris picking their way through the plantations. Break your journey at a local tea factory for a tour and a cup of freshly brewed Ceylon tea. Continue on your route and follow the trail until you will arrive at a cozy colonial bungalow restored from the time of the Raj. You will be greeted by your personal butler Robert who will attend to you throughout your stay as well as the chef with whom you can plan your dining options.
Day 06 In Nuwara Eliya ::
Morning breakfast later play golf at Nuwara Eliya Golf Club :
Afternoon lunch at the golf course. Evening free at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 07 Nuwara Eliya / Wadduwa (6 hrs Drive) ::
One of Sri Lanka’s charm is that how in a short time you will pass from the hills to the meandering rivers, past the farms, then to idyllic coast of Wadduwa. Day 08 In Wadduwa ::
Marvel at the raw beauty of Sri Lanka’s coast, spending the day carefree. As you step out on the sands don’t be surprised if your footprints are one of the few as the beach is fairly privately. In this way, The Reef give you are your lover seclusion and privacy. Even an evening walk through pass the pond is quite enchanting.
Day 09 In Wadduwa ::
Blissfully watch the clouds float past as you dream away, spend an idyllic day watching the crested waves as they bounce off the sun-kissed sands.
Day 10 Leave Wadduwa / Airport ::
Morning on time transfer to airport for your onward journey.
